ABOUT

Our Story
Then & Now

Butler's Grand Ballroom at Cornerstone Commons is located at the corner of Main Street and Cunningham Street in downtown Butler PA. It resides in a century old building that was originally designed by Thayer Architects of New Castle. Construction on the building was completed in early 1906. The four story structure was the long standing home of John Honse Furniture and the Independent Order Of Oddfellows, who had their banquet hall on the third floor. It is this space that has been carefully returned to a functioning banquet hall.

In 2004, the building was purchased by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph and Jacquelyn Gray. Since this time, the building has been completely renovated, including complete mechanical upgrades. They also installed a state of the art elevator for use by all guests. This means that the entire facility is handicapped accessible.

Upon arriving at The Grand Ballroom of Butler, a golden elevator ride will transport you to the third floor where elegance surrounds you with a timeless design of days gone by. Sixteen foot high coffered ceilings with gold egg and dart moldings, ten foot tall windows with oak trim and Williamsburg brass chandeliers make for a fairytale setting for your intimate wedding. Guests can mingle and enjoy cocktails & appetizers in the smaller “Pearl Room” before adjourning to the larger “Diamond Room” for dinner and dancing.

The Pearl Room measures 32′ x 36′ and will easily accommodate a gift table, place card table, wet bar, appetizers table and still allow plenty of room for guests to mingle. The main ballroom, also known as the Diamond Room, measures 32′ x 67′ and can provide for seating of up to 180 guests while still allowing for a sizable dance floor.

There is enough pressure when planning your big event, don’t add the unpredictability of Pennsylvania weather to your list.  Your guests will be comfortable in our climate controlled venue regardless of what Mother Nature brings on your special day.  The venue is also within walking distance of ample paved parking spots in several lots and on the street.
